I'm running Tidal through my HTPC with the HDMI interface. The XMC-1 is in the Direct Mode sending a balanced signal out to my XPA-2s. It seem to be a superior source to all of the others I've tried, including CDs through my OPPO. I'm subscribed to the HD service and I'm really impressed with it. Bass is so strong and well defined that I turn my subwoofer off when I'm listening. I'm also noticing a lack of harshness in the treble that I get with any other streaming source.
I'm still in the free trial period, and I really hate the idea of subscribing to another monthly service. But the sound is so good.

I use Tidal prob about 4 to 5 hours a day on average, it works everywhere I want it to and sounds great.

About a year ago, I tried Tidal and could not believe what I was hearing. It's 80% of my listening.

Have you tried Tidal via your OPPO? No haven't tried that yet. It might be hard because I haven't undated the software on the OPPO since I bought it three years ago. (It a 93). I'm hesitant to hook it back up to the network cable because I know that the first thing that it's going to do is update. No big deal I guess.

Got me, I haven't. But since it's in flawless condition, I was hoping to get a premium for it when I replace it with a 213.

I love Tidal. I don't use any other streaming services for music any longer. I have 2 Chromecast audio units one that I use for my theater room and one for my deck and they work flawlessly.

Last I heard, Tidal does not have a "channel" to play random songs that fall within a category or are similar to bands input by the user to create their own channel - similar to Pandora. Have they come around and started offering something like this?

[b Tidal has had just what you describe, called "Artist Radio" for years, but at cd or MQA resolution unlike pandora, spotify and other lesser services.

Have they come around and started offering something like this? In my experience, Tidal's "channel" mode isn't quite as developed at Spotify's but decent. At home, I listen to Tidal via Roon which does offer the channel based listening in myriad ways , blending both Tidal and the music I have stored locally. It's very cool and sort of the missing piece for Tidal.

I don't believe the artist radio performs at the mqa level, could be wrong
