Hello, I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the MC-700. I have always wanted to goto separates. My current HT setup is Marantz sr7002, with gen1 XPA-3 for fronts and center. Not sure if I should get the basx 7 amp, or 5 and keep the xpa-3? Still using 2010 era model Panasonic plasma so will be nice to have the 4k when that time comes, but hoping for faster hdmi switching from the MC-700, oppo and panasonic bluray, ps4, cable hd box is all I have hooked up though. Looks like same audio codecs without atmos (not sure I care) but wondering how the MC-700 is going to stack up against the Marantz sr7002 in sound quality etc..I think the xpa-3 is little too much sometimes with my current rig but not sure I'm getting the most out of it too? Any thoughts would be great? Does the emotiva stack up to the likes of Rotel, Marantz separates you think? thx!!

Let me just say that low cost surround preamp processors have not made there mark on the market.
I for one am still waiting for that to happen for all of us.

I think it'll be a great combo and you'll enjoy it. I've got my mc700 paired with two Tag McLaren amps (7channels in total) and the sound quality is simply awesome. Try it and enjoy it!
