Per the information in the MC-700 IR & RS232 Codes V1.6.doc document I used the MC-700 Pronto IR Hex Codes V1.5.txt file codes to create an IR remote for the MC-700 in AnyMote's Smart IR Remote app for android on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S. All went well except that the " Power (Tog)" command on the txt file doesn't seem to do anything. I am therefore using the Power On and Power Off codes to switch the unit on and off (which is fine - I like the discrete on and off commands), but I'd still like to know if the Power Toggle code is correct as written? I also wondered if the code might do something other than switch the unit on and off - for example I wondered if it might be a toggle for the trigger output, but I tested that and it doesn't seem to be that. Is the code correct?
Secondly, although the IR codes are great, I would be interested in adding control over my network using the RS232 codes so I could control the unit from another room (my second HDMI output) using a nice looking remote interface on an ios or Android device. It seems to me that the ios app Mote has some potential and possibly MyURemote for Android but there's not a lot of guidance as to compatible network-serial adapter devices. There is a cheap (under $20) serial RS232 to Ethernet Converter USR-TCP232-302 around which looks interesting and easy to configure and I don't mind experimenting but I'd be interested to know if anyone has any experience controlling Emotiva devices via RS232 and if so what are they using to do it. Thanks!
