The subject tells it all. My XMC-1 thumbs my sub when it boots. I thought this would be addressed via firmware update but it still does it.

Is that a new condition, or level /output changes? The plate amp. COULD be on the way out....(caps.)

The sub seems to work fine. The problem is a signal sent out of the XMC-1 on the LFE channel when it boots. The sub is connected via XLR. Not every boot will result in a thump. Prob 3 out of 5 boots will do it.
The XMC-1 is an original HDMI 1.4 unit with firmware 4.1

Try reducing the boot volume setting? I think you can set it as low as 96db. The LFE is inactive as far as I know until the boot process is complete

Mine does this too, but only when I set it to low power standby (as opposed to video-on standby). It's done this since I first purchased the XMC-1 (one of the original pre-orders). I got tired of the loud thump, and just switched to video-on standby, despite the significantly higher power usage. Problem effectively worked around.

Follow up... Well eventually the thumb damaged my sub and I had to replace the driver.
