Ive been listening to Tidals Master recorded music. I like it very much, this is the software decoding version of MQA. 1/2 of the ability of the decoding process. There are a few hardware decoders currently on the market. AudioQuest DragonFly Red or Black $200 Bluesound Node 2 $500. Meridian-Explorer 2 $200. Mytek Brooklyn $2000. Others?? Emotiva DC-2 ( Im rooting for this one! ) $$. Has anyone had any experience with any of these?

I have a DragonFly Black, Mytek Manhattan II and used to have a Bluesound Node I. Is there anything in particular you want to know?

Interesting. So for $89,000 you get a show piece that looks like 3 Mac Minis stacked on top of eachother.

Not sure what you mean with "only", but DragonFly Black and Red with software update will render MQA which has been unfolded by Software such as Tidal desktop app.

My interest is in hardware MQA decoding.

My interest is in hardware MQA decoding. That is incorrect. In fact the DragonFly Red and Black requires MQA to be unfolded to MQA Core so it's the only one of the devices that cannot not decode MQA at all on its own. www.audioquest.com/dragonfly-series-faq#MQAThe Mytek Manhattan II can decode MQA encoded media including all MQA steps. mytekdigital.com/hifi/products/manhattan2_preorder/As for the Node 1, at least it does the first step decoding step to MQA core but I'm not sure it does the full MQA decoding. Currently, the BluOS devices only do MQA encoding through their own player but not with Roon.
