Hi,
I've been using the ultimate support onstage stands for my old 6's and current 8's and they have done the job really well. However, I'm looking at appeasing the wife and getting something that doesn't look like a club dj monitor stand and more like actual speaker furniture. Would love to hear any recommendations from you all!

Thanks Nick! The onstage series is what I have been using, but the MS series appears to be exactly the next step up I'm looking for!

2nd on Hair Nicks recommendation. Quality stands they are, and the home and studio do very well by them. I have the same dilemma as far as losing the DJ stand look in my place too. The Ultimate Support stands are in my center reticle for a direct hit. Value is pretty good too considering what stands can cost too!

I like the custom wood stands from GWiz IndustriesHere's my own pictureHas one of my Stealth-8's on one of their (custom) stands. You pick every dimension and color of every part of the stand. This color is some kind of "cherry" stain, used on all pieces of the stand. You can choose different stains or colors for different parts. Height of stand, width and depth of top and bottom pieces all selectable. There is another stand style, with a single I-beam upright too. Also fillable center stands, and I see a new style with angled uprights now too. You can fill out all the dimensions and colors online and see how the price changes to get an idea.

That's where I got my stands, too. They do a nice job and the pricing is reasonable. I used them for my Stealth 8's when I had them, and got a different set for the Sierra 2's I am using now. The only downside is they don't move real fast so it takes a while to get your order.

OneGuy: Thanks for using steel rather than lead shot. Lead is a REAL nightmare to dispose of properly and once the stands are OUT of your control, so is the disposal of the Mass Loading stuff.
Me? I personally believe in InGenius design over Brute Force. To that end, I think that a TUBE or multiples of tubes (3 for a tripod?) filled with some steel shot and EXPANDING Foam would make a fairly heavy AND extremely rigid structure. Decouple from the floor with spikes and give that a try?

Very nice, indeed. How high is the tweeter level from ground? That'll give me an idea how large things in the photo are.

Tweeters at 30" and the stands have a slight rise to them as they were ment to be a bit short.

these are my homemade Stealth 8 stands I love the grills! I'd like to eventually make some for my Stealth 8s and possibly Stealth 6s. Did you make them yourself?

Yes sir, I sort of traced out the outline of the fronts and went from there with 1/2 thick mdf, a skill saw, and some well placed magnets that line up with the screws on the baffle. Thx for the compliment. I needed grills to help me feel secure with young kids.

Simple, effective and good looking. What's not to like? Kind of makes BUYING speaker stands the 'easy way out'.
I've got several 4" diameter HEAVY cardboard tubes in the garage. I might start with those!

The 8's are very heavy. If you have kids running around (or guests that have had one two many) I'd recommend a stand where the baseplate has the same outline as the 8's and at least three or preferably four legs.
