The 8's are very heavy. If you have kids running around (or guests that have had one two many) I'd recommend a stand where the baseplate has the same outline as the 8's and at least three or preferably four legs. Russ I do have two kids, kindergarten and 2nd grade. Both are super mindful and respectful of the speakers and have had zero issues behavior wise, but safety is a valid point. I might lean toward the ultimate support as it would probably be more stable, yes?

How high do the ultimate supports place the tweeter?
Can you open 'em up to add some steel shot or other mass-loading material?

I will have to measure the height but you can add sand or shot. Also has cable management.

Russ Never had an issue with my kids as well. The base plate mine sit on is a piece of polished stainless steel that's sized for the Isoacoustics stands that are between the speakers and the Pangea DS400's.

I don't see a weight limit on the two Pangea ones, but the Sanus stands only support 35lbs. I may ping AudioAdvisor about the Pangea stands weight limits.

The tweeter is 42" from floor. My rule of thumb has always been for the tweeter to be at ear level. I don't know how high my ears are at sitting position? 42 sounds pretty close?

The center of my Stealth 8 tweetersare 47" of the ground. If I am sitting upright in my directors chair my ear opening ranges between 46" to 48" depending on how I self measured. I'm 5'10" without shoes.
I sized my setup for me and used that seated tweeter high as a factor for picking stands. My stands reside in my family along with the rest of my main audio setup. I have an equilateral triangle setup with my speakers easy 30 deg twisted towards center. I didn't want the vertical sweet spot to be a factor in setup which is what you get when you tilt the speakers (sweet spot varies with distance). The speakers are 7' apart which makes my listening distance to each speaker 7' away.
I seem to recall reading that the max weight for the DS400 stands is 75lbs. The Stealth 8's either the stainless steel plate and Isoacoustics stands weighed in at around 46 or 47 lbs if my memory serves me correctly. I don't think that weight capacity has to take into account filling the stands. With my 50 lbs of shot per stand each speaker stand combo weight about 135 lbs.

Sound Anchors made in Florida USA. You get what you pay for and these stands are built strong and heavy. Sand filled from the factor. They cost a lot with high shipping cost but the Stealth 8 deserve there performace. Custom height if you want or they make adjustable height. soundanchors.com/

I had placed a custom spec'd at the end of September from a builder I found on Etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/TheWoodworkingWizard?ref=profile_shopnameCharlie was excellent in the process, and worked with me to get the color just right and he followed the trapezoidal specs exactly matching the shape of the stealth 8's. He was a little behind from the original ship date and offered me a 10% refund discount, which was an extremely generous gesture. They look great in my room and things are sounding real nice.
