So... I was extremely impressed with the T2 demo this weekend at Emofest. I'm also a big fan of the stealth 8s, but I have not listened to them side by side. The Stealths show to go a bit lower spec wise and I know the advantages of having 400 watts of internal power. But I really really liked what I heard from the T2s. Are the Stealths at this point worth almost double the price? All these would be used in a multi-use room / home theater for both critical 2-ch listening and movie watching. I have an XMC-1 and an Airmotiv S12 on the way to add to my existing setup (in my sig). I'm a dummy and forgot to ask Dan's opinion over the weekend. What do you guys think?

Having owned the Stealth 6 speakers which were really really great speakers I vote for the T2, IMO for HT use a full size tower is the way to go, the Stealth 6 in my scenario didn't have the sheer output I wanted for movies.

That's the kind of input I'm looking for... thanks!

There's also something about a tower speaker that IMO gives a more fuller sound especially a three way one, better mids, could just be me and my preference but for me that's important.

I'd go with T2's...I think they are smoother overall and still pack a punch.
The Stealth's, to me, punch hard, but seem less natural/more synthetic/cold sounding.

Mark More meant for the studio environment of course but I do remember my Stealth 6 well, they let me hear everything in a track, like listening to Radiohead for example they sounded really good which to some can be more cold/synthetic but IMO just very neutral which in the end is want you really want in a studio monitor, but yes for double duty the T2 IMO in the HT/2ch environment would be the best choice. Chad / Mark, thanks for the input. I'm leaning that way too. Plus, Mark, as you and I discussed at Emofest, that T2 demo was pretty damned impressive.

Buy both and return the one you like less within the 30 day window.

So now there are two threads asking this question? Same answer for both: T2 is what you want for your application.

I think it depends on your room and listening tastes as well as associated equipment. I had a similar decision back in July and went stealth 8, as my room is normal sized family room, was coming from stealth 6's being driven by a dc1 and didn't have the space to add an amp. If it was a true home theater space in sure the T2 would throw a bigger stage and fill a larger room nicely.
