An interesting read and video of the new 700 series which acordingly significantly changes the high prices of the D3 new 800D3 series and makes a noticeable improvement above the CM series performance. I myself own B&W and have been since 2002. I started with the S series B&W. The more overpriced D3series is something I have listened to several weeks ago namely the 803D3 & the 804D3, respectively...I said over priced but I stand by my repeated quote " money is relative" however the D3's at this point are out of my league. The introduction of the new B&W700 series price range is fair and balanced. So to all who are in the market for B&W without breaking the bank here is an opportunity. www.avsforum.com/bowers-wilkins-announces-700-series-speakers-cedia-2017/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=AVSForum.com_daily&utm_source=AVSForum.com20170911blue

I have the older 704 speakers, and was told that the 700 series was discontinued at that time, due to being to close to the 800 series in performance. People were listing to the 800 series, and choosing to go with the 700 series, since it was better priced and still close to what you would find in the lower 800 series. I know I when with the 704 instead of the 804 or 803 just due to the gap in price at that time.
Now the pricing gap has grown, so this may be their attempt at filling in between the CM and 800 series.
Also, at that time (5 years ago or more), the dealer was nice enough to move the 700 speaker next to the 800 speakers, using the same electronics to drive both.
Now, my primary speakers are Maggie 1.7i, with the 704 doing center channel work.

Good choice besides the B&W. blue
