Nice set up, should sound good for both HT and Stereo This is how I have mine set up; Connect the 2.1 stereo music sources to the XSP-1, use XLR balanced inputs wherever possible (you didn't list them so I don't know what they are) Connect the XSP-1 via long XLR balanced cables, to the XPA-1's which are located next to their respective front L&R speaker. Connect the XSP-1 via RCA cables to the sub woofer since it doesn't have XLR inputs. Sit back, relax and listen to the music, you need the break. After suitable recovery time; Connect the HT source/s to the 7701, most likely via HDMI interconnects. The 7701 only has RCA outputs so use RCA interconnects to the XSP-1 inputs for R&L fronts plus the sub woofer. Then use the 7701 RCA outputs to the XPA-2's for the Centre and Surround Right and Surround Left I'd suggest locating the XPA-2's as close to the 7701 as possible, keep the RCA interconnects short and use long speaker cables. For 5.1 you will have one XPA-2 channel spare. If you want to run 7.1 then use the amplified (speaker) outputs from the 7701 to the Rear Right and Rear Left channels. For listening to 2.1 stereo music I turn off the HT system components (processor, power amps, sources etc) and just have the source, XSP-1 (in control) and power amps + sub turned on. Makes for a very quiet background. For triggers I use the XSP-1 to turn on the power amps (daisy chained) and sub woofer. For HT movies switch the XSP-1 to HT Bypass. For triggers I'd suggest using the 7701 to turn on the XSP-1 and the XPA-2's. Hope that makes some sense Cheers Gary

Thanks Roger for the input. For the 2.1/5.1 listening from xsp1. What output I'll using at the back of xsp1 HF for the main speaker using xlr balanced to the xpa1 and Low LF for the sub using rca summed output? For the Marantz pre/pro 7701. I look and saw that their is a xlr balanced output for the center, surround. Can I use the xlr balanced output(Marantz) connect to xsp1 balanced input?

I read the manual step by step and I got an idea what I need to do to my system for HT setup and 2 Channel stereo with sub. But I did not understand about using LF switch for the sub. The manual said if you using this LF switch to your subwoofer input. You're using bass management from Xsp1 and you need to put "Flat or Direct" your subwoofer. And my subwoofer doesn't have that option. What are you guys doing on your subwoofer crossover adjustment? 2nd Question: If I'm using XLR balanced or UNBALANCED connection from my preamp output(HT by passed) to xsp1 input is their any significant sound difference? Pls. any advice and thank you.

You need to connect the Marantz to the XSP-1`s Home Theater Inputs, your front left and right and subwoofer from your 7701 to those inputs and then when using sources connected to the 7701 you choose HT Bypass on the XSP-1.
