My firstborn first piece of Emo gear was actually a Sherbourn PA-5 followed by an exchange for a XPA-5 gen 1. Made the purchase and swap just as the Emotiva XPA-5 was introduced. Should have kept the Sherbourn, they sounded about the same as I can remember but the Sherbourn had a 10 year warranty. I wasn’t sure where they were headed at that time so I swapped it out.
Also had a pair of Sherbourn 2/150’s . They work just fine to this day. I havent used m since breng down my livingroom system. They should be great for Atmos speakers.

I came across pictures of an LMC-1 and started wondering about how much of the earlier gear people still own, use or did own at one point? What was the first Emotiva product? Was it an amplifier? LMC-1 That thing just looks so nice. Very classy. I wish they still had that look.

LPA 1. And a toaster (analog). And how did the toaster sound? The analog ones tend to have a rather mechanical click and some even have a ding!

I'd describe the analog toaster sound as ...warm, with a crunchy treble.

I bought a new UPA-7 in Dec 2008 - my first piece of Emo gear. I had a Harman Kardon 525 AVR at the time. What a great amp that was. The next purchase was the ERT towers a couple of months later. The UPA-7 made them sing very nicely. My most recent buy from Emotiva is the Little Ego. Nice DAC - does a great job feeding the ST-120 & song towers. Not a lot of difference between the LE and a Behringer UCA202 DAC. In-house right now that is Emo branded is a pair of XREF 4.1 bookshelf speakers for zone II - the ERD-1s and the Little Ego - and a PT-100 preamp/tuner that resides in the back room driving the Acurus A100 and AR-2s. At various times I've owned a couple of XSP-1s - couple of USP-1s - ERC-2 - ERM 6.3 for center use - ERM 6.2s ERM-1s - UPA-1s - UPA-2 - UMC-1 (ugh!) UMC-200 (twice!) - and an XDA-1 twice. Some was bought new - some factory refurbs - and some I've bought from some of you Lounge members. The only piece of gear I would never buy again is the UMC-1. Never could get rid of the audio dropouts. The others I'd buy again if I need it. I'm sure I've bought other stuff from Emotiva new - and some used gear I can't recall having bought ATM. So - what would I buy in the future? I don't think I can answer that until I see the product. I have little interest in the XMC-1 - or any derivative of it. The Yamaha CX-A5000 does a very credible job for my needs and I'm not even toying with the idea of moving it out for something else. I have zero interest in Atmos - I seldom turn on surround sound even for a movie unless it's a 'must-hear' audio track. Besides - there's the learning curve with new gear and I'm getting too danged old to learn as quickly as I once did.

I had the LPA-1 which was I believe Emotiva's first amp. That's when Emotiva products were sold by av123. I wonder where Mark "Shifty" Schifter is now ?

The LMC-1 and below it the LPA-1 (6 channel amp) with the 6th channel bridged for 7 channels. Neither has skipped a beat since new.

Started with a DMR-1 and an MPS-1. MPS-1 now hooked to an original XMC-1. I'm first generation all the way!
