Are they using the undocumented Squeeze Client API on the Oppo UDP-203/205 or do the Oppos now implement Roon Endpoints?

The Oppos now implement Roon endpoints. Oppo simply implemented Roon-compatibility via a new firmware update. I installed that firmware about a week ago, opened Roon, and voilĂ ! No detours through squeeze-lite required. It just works with Roon, as long as the Oppo and Roon are on the same network.

So I guess, worst case scenario I could use that to feed the upcoming RMC-1 ... hhmmm, only RCA outputs on my UDP-203 (sigh) and the Oppo's doesn't seem to support output on its USB 3.0 ports (double sigh) ... Wel, I assume that we could output over optical/copper S/PDIF ... I think we're still stuck hoping that the RMC-1 will have some kind of Streaming Audio solution ...

^^^I output audio via one hdmi (from the Oppo 203) to the XMC-1, and video via the other hdmi connection directly to the tv, since the XMC-1 cannot as yet pass the new video formats. It is however adequate for the audio. Is there any reason why you're not considering the HDMI audio option for the Oppo 203/RMC-1 combo?

Just hadn't thought of using HDMI. I suppose that would work as well. Hhmmm, and the XMC-1 supports DSD via HDMI input so presumably the RMC-1 will as well ...
