For me , having preouts for A-100 mini x amp is quite beneficial (to connect to a sub), than line outs How easy is it to do that ?

The way it can be done is to control the volume upstream - like from your dac or something. Use the minix as a power amp basically this way. Then use a y cable splitter upstream and connect one pair to the minix and the other to the sub

I was looking at tweaks internal to mini X, to avoid an another device in the chain.

Because it's intended to be a basic (BasX, actually) little 2 channel amp that a lot of folks will used as a headphone amp so they wanted to keep costs down. At least that's my guess at "why". Mark

(I have the older mini X actually, though its same except for headphone out) Does having preout instead of lineout, add more costs ? A genuine question...
