A few options under consideration and request guidance 1)TA100 connected to Airmotiv B1 passive : My take is at low level listening levels the TA100+AitmotivB1 should possibly offer the same sound signature as the pre-power combo. Iam not in need of high power given the room size. The advantage in pre-power is the upgrade possibility and maybe pre and power amp having seperate transformers in separate boxes may offer better sound separation between channels or better detailing ...iam not sure.!
2) TA100 + Airmotiv5 powered : Does the TA100 with preout connected to the Airmotiv5 powered sound better than a TA100 connected to Airmotiv B1 passive ?.Iam aware that PT100 preamp can be used instead TA100. TA100 is taken incase i want to use the amp with some other speakers.
3) TA100 or PA 100 with A150 pre-power combo with AirmotivB1 passive : Are there any gains going this path with a pre-power ? I dont have any high volume listening needs nor do i plan to use DAC/Tuner frequently. Its only because of tone controls that i need to consider TA100.
Thanks.

The key here is flexibility. While it is hard to say everyone will hear the same, it is by theory always better to isolate your power amplification from your Preamplifier where possible. I enjoy my Presonus AR-12 mixer and stealth speakers to great effect, and my XMC-1 with the Stealth speakers are wonderful too. As an avid music listener for a long time, I have enjoyed the world of separates vs. an integrated solution more. I did start with an integrated, but once I used the PRE-OUTS, and branched out to a separate amplifier the possibilities opened up immensely.
It is like experimenting with an interchangeable lens camera. Your options are wide open. A built in lens only, takes you only so far.
Depends on your expectations and your future plans. The TA-100 is wonderful alone, but also great, you got options to build on it. Maybe with Tube Buffers, and other processing, amplifiers, or whatever the direction you go. It is about options.

I have not tried them all but I purchased a TA100 powering some B&W CM10s for a dedicated 2 channel room. I thought the sound was very good. It played loud enough for my small 11 X 14 listening area. I then bought the A300 amp and I think it sounds like a $5000 amp/preamp. No kidding value of the year. Emotiva hit it out with the A 300 amp.I would imagine the BasX PA100 preamp is the same minus the 50 watt amp but my setup is more versatile for future changes
Am I happy with it? 100%. I did add a SVS sub and have been going back in forth on which I prefer the SVS or JL Audio. They both are excellent. The JL Audio is easier to set up and has more bells & whistles but the sound is very close

Is this statement a fair summary : The TA100+A300 in the same room at the same listening volume with everything else remaining same delivered a significant improvement

Assuming everything remains the same .For a given spkr both combos at low listening levels would have the same current capability. The only difference is headroom A100 vs A300. Where does the diminishing return kick in ?

In fact it is painfully close to my McIntosh amp. To the point that it may sound better

Any opinions on these setups. The choice between TA/PT100+A300 and TA/PA100+A150 is interesting . Assuming everything remains the same .For a given spkr both combos at low listening levels would have the same current capability. The only difference is headroom A100 vs A300.If one stays with 8Ohm/87db sensitivity maybe TA/PA100+A150 would be ok i guess.

If it was me I would go with the powered speakers. I've heard the airmotiv 5 and the airmotiv 4 and they both sound very good
