I'm calling again next week. Last time I talked to them a few weeks ago, they were still 4 wks out still waiting on part(s) from overseas.

Received my SVS SB12-NSD sub today, can't wait to audition it and see how well it integrates with my Ultra 12 this weekend.

Well, talked to Emotiva and it keeps getting pushed out. There is some sort of part certification that is taking more time. That's all they could tell me. I'd love it if Keith or Dan would weigh in and give us a bit more info. I'm being patient but been without a sub for 6 months, since my old one died. I really don't want to go buy another one since I got such a great deal at Emofest. Keith/Dan/Lonnie, throw me a bone here!

Just did a quick setup and played some 5 ch disks (DTS and DVD-A), some vinyl, and a few movie clips. Sounds really really good without any break in. Nice and tight, great with music, which is my way of judging a sub. Didn't even seem to work hard to produce some impressive bass on the Hacksaw Ridge battle scene. That's one of my favorite soundtracks. Another thing that I never really thought I could hear, was the improvement in my mains once the sub relieved them of the lowest octave. But I caught myself noticing that clarity on the multi channel music. I haven't run Dirac or really done any formal measuring or tweaking. This is just s quick first impression and its late, so I hope i made a little sense.

Still haven't had a chance to set up Dirac, but I'm still super impressed with this sub! I can't believe it sounds this good for this price. My old Soliloquy sub was $1400 and it doesn't touch the S12. The S12 is very impressive in 2.1 mode - really tight and blends with the mains perfectly. Seems to just be loafing along when watching movies. I'll report back once I get a chance to do my Dirac measurements.

Ok kids.... I called this morning. They are still waiting for part(s) to come in. They said we're still 4 wks out. My initial hunt for a sub was to find a mate for my Emo Ultra 12 (wish I had bought another while they were still available). I wanted a sealed unit for its musicality and one with a balanced input so I wouldn't be concerned with longer cable runs. Most of the subs with balanced inputs are well over $1k. If the SVS SB-2000 had a balanced input, it would be perfect for me. Now I'm reading a white paper stating to avoid subs with passive radiators if your going to use it for music! I dunno at this point, maybe I'll go with the SB-2000
What does it say about passive radiators that's bad?

Well I certainly can't tell that there's anything wrong with passive radiators.
