Was shifting from a stereo feed to a SACD one and the XMC-1 had a loud hiccup and destroyed the AMT driver on my right T1 speaker. Checked first with DIRAC and saw that the right FR was gone from 3k on up. Then switched the two drivers and the left one worked when put into the right speaker. Does anyone know the procedure for getting a replacement? The driver itself is easy to install and has the number HR3326B-3 on the back. This is, BTW, the second time this loud crack has occurred when shifting rom a computer to an OPPO feed and wonder what the issue is with the XMC-1. Others on this site have reported a similar pop. Thanks for the information. Keith -- are you there? Craig

The procedure to obtain warranty service is to begin by contacting Emotiva. I recommend a phone call on Monday.

As geebo says, call customer support on Monday and they'll take care of you.

On the loud crack, is it loud because of the current volume setting on the XMC? i.e. the future workaround being to turn the volume way down before switching sources? If so, not ideal but such is life.

Like I said, such is life. Everyone has to decide for themselves.

It's something I've been doing for decades. Lower the volume before changing sources.

me, too...force of habit. Mark Me three... you have no idea what that other source is "emitting" and having it scream and squeal at loud volumes is all the learning you should need to make you turn it down while switching. I had a bad windows machine once where it sent my USB MOTU sound card into "half standby", and it sure woke up all the dogs in the neighbourhood when I switched to it.

To be fair regarding the XMC-1..........
Digital pop issues have been around for many years, and BEFORE the XMC was out in the field. I believe the first most common was the DTS incompatibility issue, occurring (in one example) with selecting "dts" with an incompatible device or non dts processor, resulting in a loud, sometimes damaging transient. (did not read)!
Almost like VOODOO, (it would seem) some equipment from different manufacturers just had a tough time "pairing up" and would result in a pop at times, most discouraging.
Keep that volume low until you're reasonably certain of what you've got.
