As numerous threads have discussed, there seems to be a great deal of different approaches.

This is such a broad subject, the type of connection and gear determines the type of connection I use to power said gear. Big amps and powered subwoofers are plugged directly to power source, outlet. Other gear to surge protector/ conditioner.
Your question may not be specific enough but could lead to more specific answers.

Its a great question, one that im interested in. I just think a poll that has more specifics is required. 👍

vneal said “educate yourself[/quote]” I believe that is the goal of ALL of us. 😁

I use a Furman unit. What is good enough for studio use is good enough for my needs.

I use an APC H-15 unit. Love it. No issues and no current limiting.

Amps are directly into wall outlets and rest of equipment is in Panamax units. If I ever change them out I would probably go with SurgeX units.

Pangea Premiere Audio Grade outlets to Pangea Octet xl. Using all Pangea power cords
After multiple surge protectors, monster power stuff and even a recent Panamax, this by far consistently sounds the best all around. I’ve even duplicated it on my 2nd system with the same results.
Can’t over state how impressed I am with the performance of the Pangea power products from Audio Advisor. Great value, great service and above all sounds awesome!

1) I have whole house surge protection on the breaker panel. 2) The power amps plug directly into dedicated lines. 3) The tv, processor, HTPC, preamp, etc all plug into a panamax powerbar (redundant layers of protection), into another dedicated line. 3) The Grounds of the dedicated lines are bonded together at the adjacently located outlets, with #8 wire, to form a single point bonding system.
Sincerely, /b
note 1: I attribute the deathly silent, hum free result, to my grounding excesses... note 2: I admit four dedicated lines to be excessive, but if you're ripping the wall open to add wires, it's almost as easy to pull four cables instead of one; almost as cheap to pull #12 instead of #14...

I'm a bit of both with amps and subs (powered) being plugged directly into dedicated outlets.
Source units, processors, projectors etc are plugged into conditioners and/or regulators.
Also upgraded ground rods from the main panel with 8' rods, 8' apart. Scott

I selected "I plug my gear into surge protectors (no conditioning)", but plug my Emotiva UPA-1s directly into the wall outlet.
