I owned an XMC-1 for 3 years and LOVED it. I only sold it to get ready for the RMC-1 and snagged a used AVM 60 in the interim to run Atmos channels. I had some issues with Dirac that could just have been user error. To your question: I prefer ARC for its interface, ease of use, results and ability to customize curves and X-over points. To clarify, I'm not saying Dirac isn't an excellent software suite as I may not have gotten it up and running correctly. I did not like the corrected sound and tried to get used to it for a week but just killed all room dynamics IMO although the sound was "even" and smooth. Scott |

No, sorry, never owned the XMC-1. I had a UMC-1 but that was a different animal. ARC seems superior to the implementation of Audessey that was in my Marantz 7005. |

I have the OPPO DAC, an Emotiva MC-700, Kong Skull Island, and Moana. Project has come out with a new DAC for $399 that does MQA, now all they need is a equally value priced streamer that renders MQA.

I have never had any trouble with Dirac and absolutely love the results , i asked becasue i am tired of waiting for the ATMOS and 4K that has been promised forever. I am really considering getting the Anthem but a few things hold me back, namely ARC VS Dirac , the cost and i dont really like the actual looks of the Anthem. Im not getting any younger and i would like to try ATMOS.
