Eitr basically blocks the incoming usb power and provides its own supposedly clean power on the bus.
The multitude of other decrapifiers work in different ways. Some filter the usb power some block and create their own.
Eitr is also a usb to spdif adapter so it turns any usb source into a coax transport.

Merry Schiitmas to me. Merry Schiitmas to me.
My Eitr arrived today. I threw it in the system. Initial impression is that it is clearer with lower noise floor. I'm using with Audioquest Cinnamon USB and Coax cables that I already had.

Thor's Hammer is already taken by one of the biggest most expensive monsters out there. Considering Wilson speakers are the best I've ever heard myself, I don't doubt this sub is awesome. Albeit way out of my budget and space allotment. www.wilsonaudio.com/products/thors-hammer

It is the first USB converter that is totally isolated, noise filtered, and re-clocked for under $500

This is perhaps the biggest upgrade I've ever experienced in a digital USB-based audio system. The difference in running USB from my server to Eitr then S/PDIF to Gungnir was one of those "holy crap" moments. Much lower noise floor, much better clarity and apparent frequency response, better dynamic range, better everything. It sounds like I bought a new set of headphones. Either the USB input on the Gungnir sucks, or the Eitr is worth 100 times it's $179 price point. Highly recommended if you use USB audio and your DAC can accept S/PDIF input. I am bowled over. Been using the Schiit Eitr for the last week and I must say, I really like it a lot. I'm using the Modi 2 Uber to switch between a second USB cable and digital coax from the Eitr and when the Eitr is in the chain, I simply smile and enjoy what I hear. Thanks DYohn !
