Yeah I guess you would need a hardware decoder as the Desktop App has the software decoding, even so I'm happy with CD Quality Cool I got the skin installed, just need to figure out how you have the Tidal and Plex right from the main menu lol, I'm a Kodi newbie Chad Try amber skin as well. I find it’s more responsive than aeon Nox. I like the titan and estuary skins as they give more options for direct shortcuts to recently added, random and recommended movies. Plus the additional info works better in the movie menu/info screen. If you install the plex kodi connect addon it adds the plex library in place of the kodi library. You basically get all plex server goodness with all the customization of kodi. And plex isn’t a “extra channel”. My ONLY issue is my “extras “ don’t work via pkc. If you don’t rip your movies to drives like I do it’s a moot point.

Does the Shield do Amazon? Yes but it uses the Google version which is different than the one used on FireTV. I prefer the later but having everything on one device is worth it!!! Hmmmmm, I’m in Apple Land, don’t know anything about any other sytem. Ive used a Ruku stick in my Oppo, thats it help

I bought the Shield and then “upgraded” to the latest version. Don’t see much difference or any so now one is gathering dust, the kiddos like Roku.
