greetings,
first off, thanks to all the great knowledge contributed by forum members here. i've learned lots from y'all and appreciate the sharing. i've a question about the "match" between Ortofon's SPU Classic GM E MkII cartridge and the other components in my system.
i purchased the XSP-1 about two years ago and have it connected to a pair of Stealth 8s. currently i use an Oppo 105 as my source, but the reason i originally purchased the XSP-1 was because i knew i wanted to add a turntable as an alternate source at some point in the future. i feel i made the correct choices with the XSP-1 and Stealth 8s, and i love the sound i currently experience from this set-up.
well, the future has arrived and for various reasons i've decided to purchase a LOMC cartridge and take advantage of the XSP-1's internal phonostage. i'm pretty sure i'm going to get Ortofon's SPU Classic GM E MkII, but i wonder how they might or might not "match" each other.
is the only way to know to get one and try it out? has anyone experienced this particular cartridge with the XSP-1 and/or Stealth 8's?
any thoughts? suggestions? or comments related to how the cartridge and other components might play with each other?
thanks in advance!

Technically shouldn't be an issue, SQ wise will be up to your ears and system.

Not sure how they compare, but I like a little extra mid on the Stealths if there is any, as that’s probably the place the Stealths struggle the most in integrating the 8” woofer with the AMT, I could argue the Stealth 6 blended even better. But I do love the 8’s!

I had an Ortofon LM10 or LM20 a LONG time ago. It easily beat any of the Empire (throw aways) Shurer or Pickering carts I tried. M91ED and such from Shurer while I don't remember any of the Pickering model numbers. But I do know I never spent the $$ on any of the V-15 series. Look at the picture in the link. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/used/567339/?c3api=1876%2C52248989522%2C&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl4vS5drG2AIVA7bACh0-IgZlEAQYAiABEgJAbvD_BwECart was so Light the tonearm wouldn't balance. I had to remove the tonearm counterbalance and use the supplied lighter weight and than use a scale for tracking force. It was so clear, clean and extended that the previous carts were 'also rans'. I uspect that tonearm / cart Matching is critical. Compliance / weight / tracking force and all must be considered.

just a quick update to the thread...i received my turntable a few weeks ago and my ortofon spu cartridge earlier this week. i am completely captivated and mesmerized by this pairing as presented through the xsp-1 and stealth 8 speakers. i could not be happier!
