Just received new A500 5 channel amplifier and have it mated to a CX-A5000 Yamaha pre-processor. Speakers are two Monitor Audio Bronze 2's for the front, a Klipsch Center Channel, Accoustech 12 inch subwoofer and two Polk Monitor 60's for the rear surrounds. The combination sounds pretty good to me. It's replacing a Parasound 855A which is great but is 25? years old and weighs a ton. I think the A500 sounds a little better right now, but both the speakers(they're new too) and the amp have to break in. So far pretty happy. We'll see in a few weeks (or months) what it sounds like.

How often to you move the old Parasound? Ever consider a Re-Cap? PS caps are getting on at around 25 years but are Easily replaced.

Recently replaced a Yamaha AVR 5.1 system with the MC700 and an A500. I was looking for the same stereo capability I had in an old Kenwood Integrated amp (Kenwood 600)mainly for music listening. The Kenny was 130 WPC and I was worried the A-500 would not give me the same stereo capability. The A-500 is plenty powerful enough and is very clean in its delivery. Totally satisfied with it. Enjoy.

Not to worry. That CX-A5000 will make pretty much anything sound better! Or maybe I'm biased when it comes to Yamaha? Nah!
