I started on Black Friday and finished yesterday. Thought I would start the new year with a different/new/better stereo system, so I treated myself to a new Emotiva DAC (DC-1), Emotiva preamp (XSP-1), a couple of Emotiva power cables since they were 50% off, Axiom M100 speakers, a Bryston 4B cubed amplifier, and Audio Art cables. I have a lot of listening to do now to break in the components (if you believe the sound changes), and recalibrate my ears to the new system. I am hoping for as transparent as possible and a LOT of smiles while listening

Nice man! A blast having a new rig to listen to. That gear should sound quite nice. Now it's time to do the usual tweaks to dial them in, like placement, gain setting etc. Scott

That’s a great combo! I had the DC-1/XSP-1 combo and assuming your using XLR connections that’s a fully balanced system! Break in is debateable but I’d suggest streaming something in through the DC-1 at low volume and let it play without turning the system off for 48 hours. Might not be a major change but that should be enough to break it in. I’ve only heard the 4BSST so i imagine the 4B3 bests that! All the best!

Nice system, but why did you go for the Bryston? The Emotiva XPA-1 gen2, which is in my opinion a pinnacle in Emotiva amplifier design, is fully differential balanced, has twice the power, can operate in full true Class A (optional with a switch) vs 'mimics Class A design' (whatever that means) for the Bryston. Add to that the Brystom cost 3 x the price of a pair of XPA gen2s.
