I must be bass ackwards....I just 'discovered' Emotiva products about 3-4 years ago when searching for home theater equipment. Actually, i came across some older Sherborn pieces and found the connection to Emotiva. I just came across info on the old RSP-2 preamp. Even though it is dated as compared to Emotiva's current offerings, it would be a piece of equipment i wouldn't mind in my current setup** **Have ditched home theater and am now back in the 2 channel world...

The XSP-1 is an excellent preamp for 2 channel IMO. You can pick up a used Gen-1 for 500.00 or less.

^^^^^ I agree with Mark, I have owned both the RSP and XSP and to me the XSP came out on top, but still the RSP is no slouch and is really sexy Chad

My 5.2 Channel/2 Channel Rules !!! Take that !!! You my friend came very close to Trademark infringement....Two Channel Rules!!!™... I currently have "The Raconteurs Live At Montreux" on the 100" screen and it's playing in 2.2 Channel, if I was rich enough I would have a dedicated two channel room but I ain't haha so it's all in one, best of both worlds

Moved from a house to a rental 1br townhome. No room to properly set up and have to consider the neighbors and anyway, i started playing around with audio in the early 1960's, so i had a long run of stereo. I did start playing around with surround in the early days of Pro-Logic and into the digital era but never was overly excited by it. Even now, at theaters i'm not so keen on it. It seem they all really play overly loud for my ears with it seeming like they're running the effects volume extremely loud and a bit to quiet in the dialog........Besides, if i didn't come back to stereo, i wouldn't be having Emotiva gear!!! One room, two systems. One pair of speakers, two systems. SS for HT and the amber glow of tubes for 2channel. No regrets.
