It appears that I lost the center channel of my umc-1. is there a hard reset or fuse I can check?

It’s been a while since I’ve had a UMC-1, but I’m fairly certain there’s a “Factory Default” reset in the Menu somewhere.

Could just be "confused". Unplug the power cord completely for a few minutes and then try it again. If that doesn't work, then try the factory reset.

Absolutely.... And, if that doesn't work, sometimes a firmware update will take care of it. It's always better to have the most recent firmware. And, even if the version you have is already current, sometimes it gets corrupted, and simply re-flashing it will fix the problem. (Hardware problems that will cause a single channel to fail do occur, but they're pretty uncommon.) Could just be "confused". Unplug the power cord completely for a few minutes and then try it again. If that doesn't work, then try the factory reset.

My center channel was weak out of the box. Not sure if it could be related.
There's a fix posted somewhere here I could find if other suggestions don't work.
