I am in need of RCA cables, right and left stereo, male to male. Pretty standard. Looking for maybe 2 in the 6' length, and maybe 4 in the 2' length. Soon, I will also need another set of RCA's for a second system I am working on. In the past, I have used just whatever I had on hand. This time I would like a fresh start.
What I'd like to find would be a nice compromise between high cost and reasonable cost, and still end up with a something I could have faith in ($89.00 a cable is too much for me to bear, and sorry, I am suspicious of $1.99 a cable). The Emotiva line of cables were recommended to me, but I am seeing that many cables are sold out or discontinued. Anyone recommend a particular cable, or a place in general to begin my search? Thanks for any suggestions. dwillie.

Emotiva had a 50 % off sale on their cables, so most inventory is wiped out.
Blue Jeans cables are decent and not crazy priced

Blue Jeans cables are better than "decent," IMHO. They aren't cheap, but they offer technology that you can't get in ANY other cables at ANY price (welded connectors). I prefer Blue Jeans over every other cable I've tried including:
Audioquest Zu Audio Emotiva Nordost Kimber Kable and a half-dozen "audiophile" brands that I can't even remember.
Now for speaker wires, I'd just as soon make my own. But for interconnects (where the soldering on those tiny terminals is tedious), I buy either BlueJeans, or if it's for home-theater use, Monoprice. Monoprice is the "new Radio Shack" and they have reliable goods for inexpensive prices.
Cheers - Boomzilla

Blue Jeans
I re-cabled my entire system (except for USB) about a year ago. I made my own speaker cables using wire I sourced in bulk from Blue Jeans.
I don't see how you can go wrong with them.

Thanks for the responses. At this point it looks like Blue Jean is the way to go. More opinions are welcome, in the mean time I will search out the Blue Jean site. Thanks again, dwillie.

Blue Jeans makes great cables. Been using them for years and have several sets.
Emotiva are great cables and you can often find someone cleaning out their closet wanting to part with a few sets.
Audioquest makes a variety of cables and various budgets. I would also check out DH Labs. They have several price points.

+1 for BlueJeans - for their build quality. They're impressively well built, no snake oil approach, and are transparent about their manufacturing process, source of materials, and specifications.

Bluejeans or SVS SoundPath... Yes, SVS. I just bought a few, directional, reasonably priced and look and sound great. Soldered ends, fit is spot on, not to tight or lose. Very impressed. They feel good in your hand too, weird. LOL!

Emotiva RCA interconnect 2meter $8.99. SVS RCA 2 meter interconnect $29..99. Anyone think you would here a difference?

Suddenly this little thread (from three years ago) made me ponder HDMI. Yeah, I know it’s an RCA thread, but what it had me thinking is that HDMI cable is really not cable at all (it’s a component) with some of the same pitfalls of any other like not meeting required specs. and such. Some of my analog cables are “ancient” and “perfect” for decades. Imagine if we needed high speed RCA’s. I think I might shoot myself!

Recommendations for cables please! Time to revisit this topic as it’s been some time since the question has been posed. I’m going to run a sub via RCA out. No sub out. I plan on summing the left and right and running them 26’ around the room. Actually, I’ll run a RCA cable out to a signal booster and then a Y cable out to sum the signal. Then I’ll have a single sub cable run the rest of the distance.

I do have a comment... but not about what cable you choose. If I understand you correctly what you're proposing to do is this: Run a pair of RCA cables from the left and right outputs to a "signal booster"... Then run the two outputs of the signal booster through a Y-cable to your sub via a single RCA cable. This could be just fine... or a REALLY bad idea... depending on the circuitry inside that "signal booster". When you split a single output into two by busing a Y-cable there is no problem - because a single output will have no problem running multiple inputs. HOWEVER, when you connect two outputs together using a Y-cable, you are SHORTING THOSE TWO OUTPUTS TOGETHER. Now, depending on the circuitry inside that booster, that may or may not be a problem. For example, on one of our big processors, it wouldn't damage anything... (although you would be shorting that output to mono) HOWEVER, depending on the output circuitry in your "signal booster", shorting the outputs together could cause distortion, or could even actually DESTROY the output circuitry. Therefore you should not short the tow output son your signal booster together unless you're sure it's safe to do so. The safe alternative would be to use a PAIR of RCA cables between the signal booster and the sub (the two RCA inputs on a sub are NOT shorted together - they are summed through resistors). Recommendations for cables please! Time to revisit this topic as it’s been some time since the question has been posed. I’m going to run a sub via RCA out. No sub out. Emotiva's "Virtual Copper" sub transmitter/receiver do an awesome job WITHOUT having to run wires all over. I LOVE mine!
