Keep an eye on the Monolith amps, they just had a B-Stock sale with amps nearly half off with full warranty. I would most likely look to them if I was in need of any amps at this time. Tim +1 And to add. These are very nice. Very small company. Hand built in the USA. www.classdaudio.com/So many options my heads going to explode!!

I know there are Class D amps out there, but they are not really designed to go in the living room. And made here in the USA too? WOW. Thanks for the link.

So many options my heads going to explode!! I don’t think you’d be unhappy with any of the amps you’re considering. I’ve owned more different Emotiva amps than I’d like to admit.. lol. They were all fantastic. I used a few different crown pro amps for a while in my home theater, some were very good... some not so good. My favourite amps are the Sds series class d amps I use currently. A close second is the Emotiva xpa1L. With the recent updates to the monolith amps I think they are an excellent bargain for their price. I’m sure the new gen3 amps are stupendous as well. But I have yet to hear/try one.

And from my understanding “new” circuit boards. Not totally sure of all changes but for my personal use the xlr addition is very welcomed.

Good. Balanced inputs was it's biggest differentiator for those that wanted them. Now, no longer. Might be some closeout deals on the original to keep an eye out for.

I would seriously give those SDS Class D Amps a serious look for the money. They look like the BOMB! That gain control, and XLR, and the price... The kits look tempting, I would just need relearn how to solder. Seriously.

And dead quiet. Tom is a super easy guy to deal with. And if you contact him he usually cuts ya a package deal. He can also custom build you an amp if so desired. And he can lower the gain on cda amps if ask as well. I have some cda250’s with 26db gain that he built for me.

Ordered Well, I decided to see how far class D has progressed. I just ordered an SDS 470c w/upgraded power supply to run my mains. $669. Delivered. I have been using a Harman Kardon Signature 7.1 bridged delivering 375w X 2. It is an 80+ lb monster. I feel guilty that it probably runs 12 hours a day I'll post my opinion after I get installed.

I will trim off the ears, and I don't mind the silver I am also tempted by a CDA unit on EBay. But I should see how I like this first Ann

And please post some pics of the back end when it arrives.

I will definitely need to move some of my big heavy amps along to new owners. I have 9 amps at present..... Ann

Yes, will be interested in your thoughts. Good luck and happy listening.

It certainly flys in the face of most things i have read about class D amps not that i went out of my way to read about them. I have listened to class A/B amps all my life and i am hestitant about class D. Different does not equate to better and i think i need to live with something more than a week to draw any conclusions no matter the product.
