I'll leave it to you to read up on diffusion and it's importance. I don't know what those things you bought were, but they look like SKYLIGHTS to me. www.pmerecords.com/Diffusor.cfmThis style of diffusion is both DIY friendly and has calculable effects. You can design to a frequency range with wide range being space consuming. it's physics. And for goodfella? you don't diffuse BASS. A bass diffusor would be gigantic, in keeping with wavelengths up to around 50 feet for a 20hz note.

Thanks for your input. do you have pictures or placement information that you liked? I will keep looking. The diffusers I got are these www.auralex.com/product/geofusor/I didn't try the deffusing bass. That just silly I'll leave it to you to read up on diffusion and it's importance. I'd start with something like the CARDAS website which has a room setup guide for different size rooms and such. No matter WHAT else you do, this is the start. If your room and furnishings(important, yes?) are sound-friendly, you may not need to go much or any further. If you are spouse constrained, you are screwed, anyway. I own planar / panel speakers so some setup stuff I do won't apply to box speakers.

If I go to the audio show in in Orange County in a couple months, I will make a POINT of going to the headphone guys and listen to some planars. They are supposed to be FAST and have some of the characteristics of their larger cousins.
My Current Grado SR80e are fine for my needs and usage.
I"ve been a Magnepan owner for QUITE a while. If I ever win the Lotto, I'll knock out a wall and install an All-Magnepan HT setup which will make you cry.

It sounds amazing. Addressing the ceiling reflection made a huge improvement. This is some type of black magic!!! Nonsense, it’s physics glad you like the improvement, there is a plethora of scientifical data on how important proper acoustical treatments are in residential sized rooms, I would argue they’re more important than almost any other piece of “gear”, including speakers!

Yep, you are listening to the room, not the system. And a good system in a terrific room EASILY 'beats' a terrific system in a poor room. Every time.
Ceiling reflectors are called 'clouds' in the industry.

Mounting is accomplished with spring tensioned cleats and a single eye-screw. For my other panels, I used M3 command adhesive velcro.Anyone experience with Tri-corner bass trap? I am checking these out for the upper left corner of the room Cool! I love it. I wonder how it mounts.

I am not sure how much those weights, but M3 claims these hold 16lb. I would put a few extra just in case. If it's wood backing, but something the adhesive could grab. Wood is porous, so the adhesive wouldn't grab well. On my side wall panels, I but the metal z hook that came with it on the back of the panel, then I added the m3 command since it's now a smooth surface. almost two months in and still holding strong. For a 4' x 2' GIK panel how many command strips are needed?

Are styrofoam diffusers efficient as wood? I saw a few styrofoam diffusers over at Goodwin High End, and it looks great. I was thinking testing them above the seating position.
