Watching a movie last night via Blu Ray and noticed that the centre channel dialogue seemed very very low I thought it might have been the way the soundtrack was recorded so no big deal turned up the volume by about 10 clicks
Today put on Netflix to watch a film and it sounded like the centre was very low volume and underwater or like the speaker had a pillow over it for dialogue .
Pulled out the amp and receiver checked all connections turned the amp and xmc-1 off plugged the cables back in but still have intermittent issues where the centre distorts in dialogue. it sounds like it’s very harsh and cracks intermittently like the sound of static interference on a bad radio station or a really cheap tinny speaker shrill and piercing .
turning Dirac off and using direct seems to stop this issue WEIRD.
I have only veiwed a few films since applying this "fix" so not sure if I have "solved" the problem? Anyway....
Dirac was working fine before and no issues the only thing I can think is I moved my centre about 1/2 a foot lower down in the middle of December since last calibration so my new TV can clear it .
I have not re-run dirac since but even if it was this it has been working fine since I moved the speaker?
Any ideas or has someone else experiances something similar?
Thanks .
