Post by mmarques on Feb 14, 2018 at 11:29am Dear Keith, I wonder if you could tell if the Emotiva MC-700 would work with the Rotel RSX-1067. I love this receiver, but it lacks some audio and video resources currently available on most HT systems. I appreciate your help on this on this one. Thanks a lot!

This is actually a question for Rotel not Emotiva. The specific question you should be asking Rotel is "does the RSX1067 have inputs to the power amplifiers"? If it does then you can connect the output of the MC-700 to the input of the Rotel's power amplifiers. If it doesn't then there are a number of work arounds, but they all have compromises, so best to ask the question of Rotel first. Cheers Gary

The short answer is YES. You most certainly can connect the MC-700 to your Rotel RSX-1067 in many different ways. Beyond that it sort of depends on what you're hoping to accomplish. If you're looking to use the MC-700 as the control center, and simply use the amplifiers in the Rotel, it looks like you could simply connect the outputs of the MC-700 to the "multi-in" jacks on the back of the Rotel. Of course, what parts of the innards of the Rotel you would be able to bypass, and which parts you prefer to keep, is a complicated question with lots of answers. For example, you should be able to connect the outputs of the MC-700 to those inputs on the Rotel. From the MC-700's side of things that would enable it to do all the "thinking" and treat the Rotel as if it was simply an amplifier. However, the Rotel is really a lot more than just an amplifier. You'd have to check the Rotel manual to find out if you could bypass the tone controls and other controls in the Rotel (unless you don't want to). However, the short answer is that they should work together, and you'll have lots of interesting options to explore. Dear Keith, thank you so much for your answer, it was quite clarifying! I really want to use the MC-700 as the control center for my HT system. I'll check the Rotel manual regarding the bypass of the controls you mentioned. Again, thanks a lot!
