Damn Damn Damn... Just lost an entire post on how crappy yesteday and today are.
Just want to listen to some damn music and neither source is working. Turntable has lost a channel and I can't get the damn computer audio going.
I'm thinking of a word that starts with F and rhymes with duck or truck. I just want some music! I'm sorry I wanted some music in the 20 minutes I had before running around all day.

The word you're thinking of is "CD Player." Easy-peasy and sounds great.

The word you're thinking of is "CD Player." Easy-peasy and sounds great. Honestly never bought a good cd player. I was really on hold with stereo purchases, but that may change. I have an old HD-DVD player that can feed my Gumbh, but I hate using it. Its horribly slow to boot up and loud while playing a CD.

I will help you out by telling you how my day went. Abcess tooth and root canal and gut wrenching antibiotics, 4g if all goes well.

Or one of these. Great Cassette of the day. Nakamichi ZX-7. I miss mine. Always put a smile on face when the tape was rolling.

Sympathy to ya, brubacca - My wife had a root canal today also and is as grouchy as a wet tomcat. Even if I'm trying to help, I get the evil eye. I know that she's not feeling good, so I can overlook it all, but she can't take the opioid-based painkillers. Last time she tried, she puked for almost a full 24 hours (off and on). So she has to abide with Tylenol and put up with the pain. And it DOES get old quickly... Wish I could make it better for her, but I can't. Maybe a nice back rub at bedtime... At least it might distract her from the pain.

TAKE THE Probiotics . As a cautionary tale, I once was on antibiotics, and as a result came down with pseudomembranous colitis. The treatment is HORRIBLE, I got sick on the meds to treat it half way through (doubled over in pain in the middle of the night, laying on the bathroom floor, wife had to call the doctor). Had to stop the meds (which I had been taking every 8 hours), and had to restart and take every 4 hours (that's right, had to get up in the middle of the night, every night for over a week).
-Moral . . . take probiotics after antibiotics, I ALWAYS do so.

Don't mean to cause an argument, but root canals can cause the destruction of systemic health and the development of chronic illness. Many doctors today believe that root canals are the infected sites of origin which promote the decline in immunity and systemic health, even breast cancer in women. I'll pull the darn tooth before I ever go through that. Antibiotics kill gut flora (digestion), you need probiotics a couple weeks afterwards.

I don't know where this comes from uhhhh but.......... Root canal work changed my life for the better, forever, as it has for MILLIONS of people. Everything medical has its risks, but far better to evaluate on a case to case basis and avoid any blanket statements about such (not saying you're doing that, no not at all). If I ditched root canal work, I would have quite a few holes in my smile to say the least. Bill

On the analog side I think my cartridge got fried in the storm somehow. I've got one channe very low volume. I've checked with swapping cables and isolated the problem to either the cartridge or tonearm cable. Good news, its time for a new cartridge. Bad new, its going to be a couple months to get a "good one" Never much liked the 2M Blue. Think I may go Grado Platinum or Dynavector 10x5.

Those tonearm wires are so fine and delicate. I had a bad one on a new TT ,took a lot to figure it out since it was new. My old eyes arent too good anymore so it was like doing heart surgery in the dark but it was worth it.
