Dear all, I'm new to this forum. My current speakers are JBL L65 Jubal. Good but getting old (bought used in 1975!) An idea is to replace them, keeping the 12inch JBL122 (Alcnico) as woofers, and adding a pair of 6S monitors. I would use a MiniDSP to crossover between the 122A and the 6S, perform equalization and room correction. I could use an Emo BASX-300 to drive the woofers. But I definitely need to know how much SPL a single 6S will produce @1meter, and with which input voltage. If an Emotiva rep reads this, his answer will be much welcome.
Jean-Jacques
PS: the Stealth 8 manual contains the SPL levels (without an indication of the input voltage), but $$$$ are not the same!

Not poo-pooing your project but for the $$ and effort spent getting them to mesh properly, you might consider a new pair of T2s Scott

If you like JBL’s like I do, Im willing to part with my CF-120’s that I just don’t have room for anymore. Custom made adjustable stands and great sounding speakers. PS: the Stealth 8 manual contains the SPL levels (without an indication of the input voltage), but $$$$ are not the same! Hi Jean-Jacques, quoted SPL is a pretty useless number unless you have exactly the same surroundings as the test was carried out in. I have installed a couple of Airmotiv 6 set ups, one of which has 5 x Airmotiv 6's in a 5.1 system. It can easily reach the same volumes as my set up of 2 x XPA-1L's and an XPA-5, which is not at all surprising as the total amplifier watts is very similar. Since you are considering removing the power hungry bass requirement to separate sub woofers, I have absolutely no doubt that the Airmotiv 6's 210 watts (1 x 100 watt + 1 x 110 watts) each will handle it with ease. Cheers Gary

As mentioned buy a t2 or a pair of cheap emotiva subs to go with the 6. You may not even need subs unless you really like bass. The am6 is pretty great!
