Hey guys, I’m considering buying an XPA-1L amp which is on sale on an online audio store. Problem is that the previous owner details are unknown (or at least the store is not willing to expose). I contacted Emotiva and they refuse to transfer the warranty even if I send them the purchase receipt. Any idea how to solve this problem? Right now it’s a loose-loose situation for me and the audio store so I’m looking for a way to solve it.
Thanks

Transfer is required from the original owner to the next and so on. PM sent

for me and the audio store so I’m looking for a way to solve it. Only way to solve it is to negotiate a lower price for whatever you perceive the value of the warranty. If the store won't play ball, there is no way get the warranty.

I would think the original purchase receipt has the owner’s name on it. Would be a little slow but could mail him/her to request warranty transfer to you. Also, I’d expect the store selling it knows who they took it in from and could connect you if they want to make a sale. Otherwise as Nick says you’re SOL given Emo’s warranty transfer policy, and if warranty is critical you should look elsewhere.

We consider our warranty to be a part of the value of our products. It is intended to protect our customers... And, to a more limited degree, to protect the resale value of our gear (should one of our customers decide to sell or upgrade)... To be honest, we sort of wonder why the legitimate owner of one of our products would be unwilling to transfer their warranty to the new owner. We assume that, if the seller is the legitimate owner, and the purchaser values their warranty, then they will ask the seller to transfer it.
