I am very interested in new opinions on the new DR line. I am waiting all the time for delivery to Poland, but I see that they are not in Europe - I hope that soon

There are no new DR owners or are you afraid to write ? I eagerly await my DR-2, but it's been about a month for me. Not Emo's fault as I bought it through a distributor who I am starting to worry about. I did get my A-700 from them delivered, and I ordered both at the same time so that's something.

The DR1's will arrive tomorrow. It would be my first time listening the new generation of emo amplifiers with the SMPS technology

Picked up a DR3 for theater duties and have been very happy with its performance so far. Very detailed, efficient and neutral. Will try to get a review up soon but stuck in airport in Chicago until later tonight. Scott

I've got a DR3 and love it. Great amp and great sound. No complaints at all.

First impression from the DR1 not enough grunt. The Xpr-1 grabbed my epicons from the b***s, lol

For me, from the first minutes, there was no doubt that Dr 1 is more revealing - detailed, clearer than XPR1. Also the bass is more precise. My Jamo have high requirements and for them these are the best amplifiers I've tested. I have the best bass, midrange detail, high and low tones extension - generally very musical, I listen to songs with great relaxation, pleasure. When I had XPR1 I was tense, I was still missing something - relaxation, openness. For me, DR1 is great - maybe it depends on the rest of the system? Your system, Your ears - you can always return amplifiers First impression from the DR1 not enough grunt. The Xpr-1 grabbed my epicons from the b***s, lol

After some hours of critical listening I don't find the DR1's to my liking. The DR-1's excel at detail and bass tightness but i feel that the sub-bass is gone. In the treble i feel there is a little glare, probably emphasized by the Dali's tweeters. For speakers in the mellow side I would agree that these amps will be killer, It would add some sparkle to them.

Your opinion confirms that every element of the system is important for the end result. According to me, the loudspeakers have the greatest influence, their appropriate setting and room acoustics. I can only repeat that with the new Dr1 my Jamo 909 have perfect bass (everything is better now) - jamo goes down very low (25 hz -3db). With Xpr1 I had a constant impression of damping and lower accuracy of both bass and midrange, treble .XPR1 have, according to my comparisons, a tonal balance transferred to the bass, which makes the impression of weight, but in my case it was a little too big and therefore less readable. The connection with the tube Mcintosch C2500 corrected the problem a bit - there was openness and airiness of mid tones, the bass became gentler, but unfortunately it was blurred. It seems to me that Epicons 6 may not meet your needs for low, deep bass, XPR1 can only compensate a bit. My friend has Epicons 8 and I think they have very good bass - he uses them (only) Hegel 160. I'm a bass freak (good bass). I was raised on big speakers. My first speakers (after my father) Altus 140, CerwinVega PD9,1515, and then Infinity Kappa 7,8,9 taught me that it was not always perfect bass, but size does matter . The truth is that the small speaker will never give a good, large bass - you can add an additional subwoofer, but according to my experience it is very difficult to get 2 channels in a good natural bass effect - it is better to buy larger speakers. p.s I do not want to put a stick in an anthill, but speaker cables and interconnects also matter ...
