theses speakers need 500 600 watts of power and you need to change the fuse in the speakers to 200 amp to get there full performance

if anyone has any questions on the xls 215 from cerwin vega just ask they sound great alot better than klipsch by far You may want to get your ears cleaned if you think they sound better than Klipsch. Unless you are comparing these to the Best Buy entry level with aluminum tweeter diaphragms. By the way, who rates their speakers with nominal power ratings and peak power ratings the same....and at 6 ohms? By the way, the big difference between Klipsch and CV is that the Klipsch still sound great with a three watt amp, where the SV needs two hundred to bring them to life. Good luck with your new speakers, glad you are enjoying them. Stock up on the foam surrounds while you can!

You are comparing party speakers most likely paired with a pro amp to RF-7 II's which are very intricate and precise. There is no comparison. If you want to rock the backyard on a Saturday night, the CV may be better suited. For critical detail in every day listening the Klipsch hands down. I have heard the XLS-215 about four years ago at a Guitar Center and was not impressed. They play loud with big amps, they are not detailed and the vocals are muddy. I would not buy the RF-7 II anyway unless I updated to Crites tweeter diaphragms since the 1 3/4 inch titanium is a bit harsh over long listening periods. Listen to any Heritage line Klipsch, or used Legend or Epic series Klipsch and the CV just isn't in the same league. Sorry.

i did ,i ment a 20 amp fuse replacing a 5a fuse with a 20amp fuse is not a good idea. If the circuit is designed for 5amp max and you push 20amp through it you are taking a chance of harming the crossovers and speakers. If you harm them, you could have warranty issues also. Mark

Back in college all I wanted was pair of CV speakers and a decent amp. Even at 30 watts it was enough to hear across the quad! At 200 watts and your speakers I'd have to listen to them all the way out on the quad to keep my hearing! I just hope you're not listening to them very often at that level (apx. 120 db). Great pop/rock speakers! I feel the need to get my Spudz Mckenzie t-shirts out!
