Hi, thought I check in and say hello.
2018 is shaping up to be a year of upgrading my 2.1 audio system front to back. I had a very modest budget during the last round of upgrades in 2009. I still have a very modest budget. I had been shopping BOTL Yamaha, Onkyo and Pioneer integrated amps to replace my Harmon Kardon HK3390 receiver, and almost pulled the trigger on the Onkyo when I discovered the Emotiva BasX TA-100. Interior shots of the amp and specs really caught my eye: toroidal transformer, machined aluminum heatsink, very impressive phono stage and amp stage specs. The TA-100 lived up to my expectations and then some. Vinyl playback is so much better, which was one of my primary objectives. Not long after acquiring the TA-100, I pulled the trigger on a pair of clearance priced KEF Q100 bookshelf speakers (stand mounted) and things got stepped up another notch. I could go on about the turntable upgrade but won't bore anyone with anymore minutiae about my living room. Going forward, I'm considering adding the BTM-1 bluetooth module to the TA-100 and replacing the Pioneer powered sub I currently use with the BasX S8.

Good deal, welcome aboard brutha!
Sounds like you're having a blast piecing together an upgraded rig. Heck, I think many of us here are doing the same thing. Perpetual change is part of the game for some. Scott

Welcome to the Lounge lumpywaters. You are in the right place, glad you found us.
You will love the TA-100, and with the B/T dongle you are all set. I enjoy mine, and it powers well some serious F/S pair of speakers.
Enjoy the ride.

Welcome and congratulations on the new gear. Beware the upgrade addiction - it can be strong! (But, most of us here have it...)

Welcome! Soudns like you are having a good time! I would suggest a pair of subs. Also if you plan to upgrade speakers somewhere down the line, the airmotiv t1 or airmotiv 5s speakers should provide you some nice sound to complement your subs.

Hi lumpywaters - I'll add my voice to the welcome wagon! We're glad you're here. This is a more civil board than most on the internet (with occasional exceptions) and the Loungers are a helpful crew. I'm glad that your recent purchases have resulted in audible improvements - that's always a good thing. I look forward to your future contributions and don't be a stranger! Cordially - Boomzilla (monitor NOT indicative of listening preference)
