Can the Little Ego run off of a Galaxy Note 5.. or smartphones in general using a cable from either headphone jack or the micro usb connector from phone?

Since the Little Ego runs off power supplied by the USB port I'd kind of doubt you could make it work for long. Like until the battery dies. USB ports are required to provide .5 amps at 5vdc. I don't think that includes mini USB ports on cell phones and tablets. How would you connect the Little Ego to a cell phone via a headphone jack?

Insufficient power from a phone to run the Ego, but a powered USB hub will work of course.

I use my BigEgo with a Mac Mini so no need for external power. But my son in law travels a lot and he has small portable powered USB hub, his Ego and a pair of headphones with music from an iPhone. A little bit more to carry, but he has the headphones, Ego and USB hub in a small zipper bag that takes up only a little bit more space than the headphones on their own. Cheers Gary |

Thanks.. that helps, but not gonna be able.to work for me. I use my BigEgo with a Mac Mini so no need for external power. But my son in law travels a lot and he has small portable powered USB hub, his Ego and a pair of headphones with music from an iPhone. A little bit more to carry, but he has the headphones, Ego and USB hub in a small zipper bag that takes up only a little bit more space than the headphones on their own.
