Here is a screencap of an email I sent to MQA last night... Seems to answer the big question.. I followed up with a question about streaming Tidal Masters in the phone- with headphones activating the hifi DAC.. whether this was full MQA as well. Attachments:

Note of clarification, just in case somebody doesn’t know, I really Like the sound of most MQA music.
I also have a very large dose of skepticism!

I've had the LGV30+ for about 2 weeks now. Awesome phone. I haven't tried the DAC yet but it does have 4 different filter choices which I thought was interesting. The 128GB memory is great and it will also accept the largest SD card you can find (up to 2 TB). They have really targeted the portable music crowd.
Blows my iPhone 8 out of the water. Oh yeah, it is also DLNA compatible. I have shelved my tablet and just use this phone now. Runs my JRiver network at home too with GIZMO.

I know you lose the full MQA effect by using digital out.. But I'm wondering if I go through headphone out, to an RCA aux in on preamp, if full (final harware unfold) MQA is possible.

The analog stream must Not be changed at all or its no longer decoded. So as long as no other conversion happens you still have full MQA music. Enjoy! |
