What source can you feed to the USB port on the PT-100?
Will it read a thumb drive? Does it need a connection to some type of player?
I am debating on a PT-100 or a USB-1.
Thanks,
David

Thanks, David The USB port is strictly for Emotiva ‘s BTM-1 is an accessory Bluetooth receiver module. Thanks! On a related subject, I have an ERC-1. Would the fiber optic or digital coax be the best for connecting to the PT-100? Or would it matter?

I don’t think you’ll notice a difference. YMMV I do think the PT-100 DAC will sound better then the ERC-1’s DAC. Enjoy the journey my friend. 😁

There are two USB ports. One is for the Bluetooth wireless, and one for music from a laptop/desktop computer. It works great for music. I never had the BT module when I owned the PT-100. Great preamp/DAC unit. One of the best sounding preamps I've owned. I was quite surprised at how well it sounded. The DACs might be cheapies - but they sound excellent IMO. If it had an HT bypass I might still have one.

Sorry From the Emotiva website, ”A full complement of digital inputs, including one 24/96k USB input, 24/192 coax and optical S/PDIF inputs, and an optional Bluetooth receiver.”

The other USB port will play Music 🎼 from other sources.
