I'll start with one -
As a former band-geek (French Horn)/ member of a so-so Class-C Drum & Bugle Corps - we were fortunate enough to see the Class-A (Top-dogs) of the International competition in Montreal back in 1982.
The tune that send my spine tingling up and down was a rendition of "Appalachian Spring" from "Variations on a Shaker Melody" by Aaron Copeland there was a mostly single-file line of around 65 brass horns of various types, and the music just drifted-up from the field with an AWESOME dynamic range (and I do not use that term loosely)
Just THINKING about it still gives me a bit of a tingle and puts a smile on my face.

Kate Bush concert in 1979 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, UK. We were right in the front row and her voice just mesmerized me. What a voice! She's one of my all-time favorites. That she walked across and touched my hand didn't hurt either!

The Spectrum in Philadelphia Pa. 1979
Doobie Brothers , Sold out show and not one seat used. Everybody sang every note to every song! Last concert with my sister, love and miss her so much!
They had a fatty on a tripod that would swing in a perfect arc so everybody could hit on it!
I don’t think Big Dan or Lonnie was there! LOL

For me it would be Winter Park Jazz Festival just a few years back. My lovely wife and I stayed in the village and the weekend was perfect. It was my only time to see Jeff Golub play live. He passed shortly thereafter and I’ve been playing his music ever since. Euge Groove was also amazing. My lounge avatar is a photo that I took that year of the stage speakers. We hope to attend this year’s festival.

Lots of great shows over the years but the one that sticks out as most impressionable is Peter Gabriel. Been a fan since he left Genesis but always missed his tours and didn't get to see him until '03 at Madison Square Garden. Paid extra to get 6th row and wound up sitting behind Paula Cole and her 2 monster body guards. It was an incredible show with a great variety of his music over the years. I had wanted to see him in concert for 20 years and this was the night. Have seen every US tour since then and always pay to get the first 10 rows. A close second would be Rush in 1979 at Octoberfest in Chicago. We were all the way in the back but the memories.... Scott

Lots of live shows over the years, one that did stand out was Queen at the LA Forum, 1977 I believe. What a voice..... Great show.

Saw Gabriel on the Secret World tour with Paula Cole. She’s got some pipes.
Toad the Wet Sprocket for 89 cents in a bar in 1992, threw darts with the band before the show.
Counting Crows with less than 1000 people after their debut August & Everything After.
Blue Rodeo in Stratford, ON in 2006. Third row and they put the show on an “Instant Live” CD we bought on the way out the door so can relive that show any time we want to.
Rush in late 80s after Hold Your Fire at Joe Louis Arena was memorable for being so freaking loud you couldn’t hear a damn thing, if that makes any sense.

I can't recall the year, late 80s or early 90s, I played in a bluegrass band that performed under the main tent at the Bethlehem Musikfest, receiving polite, restrained applause from a standing room crowd. We finished our set with the fastest, tightest rendition of "The Orange Blossom Special" we'd ever done and, as we played the final note, the entire crowd rose as one and erupted into the most resounding expression of joy I'd ever been blessed to witness. 😅

The three concerts that stand out the most was seeing Black Sabbath in 1981 for the Mob Rules Tour in Charleston, SC. 2nd was Iron Maiden for the World Slavery Tour in 1985 in Columbia, SC. 3rd was seeing Rush in 1980 for the Moving Pictures Tour in Charlotte, NC.

Favorite is probably Stevie Ray Vaughan at Metzger Park Amphitheater in Evansville IN. Maybe 300 people show up in a 2000 capacity amphitheater. Stevie walks out plays a song or two and then pauses, looks at everyone and says come on down close then proceeds to play a 2 hour show to an intimate crowd like he was in front of 50K. Just flat out awesome. DId I mention the Stray Cats opened? This was only 3 or 4 weeks before the copter crash. Unreal.
Saw REM with the 10000 Maniacs at Purdue's Elliot Hall of Music on the Document Tour. Also great.
And of course Pink Floyd in 1987 at the Hoosier Dome on the Learning to Fly Tour. Didn't know what to expect with their first tour since Roger but they came out and opened with a full rendition of Shine on you Crazy Diamond so they had us!

I was there all the time back in them days. I hope I got to catch your show.

My first concert -Moody Blues in Syracuse, NY 1966. Seconded by Peter Bernstein (jazz guitar) live at the Upstairs Jazz Club in Montreal two weekends ago! I went to a Moody Blues concert in 70-71(CRS!). One of the more memorable concerts I've been to. Those guys put on a great show. One of the worst concerts I ever attended was a Donovan concert in 66-67(CRS strikes again!) in San Diego Ca. One guy with a guitar sitting on a stool on an very large stage, and we were probably 50 rows back. The problem was the sound system, it was crappy! As for a moving concert - there was a televised tribute to Johnny Cash at the Kennedy Center in NYC in 1996 that I watched. It was a very moving experience. He was in ill health but managed to hang on for another 6-7 years. His daughter Rosann Cash sang a few of his hits (he had lots of them!) - as she sang the cameras were all on Johnny. I'm not a big country music fan but Johnny Cash was big in the pop world of music too, he was too good to ignore.

Our band was the Mountain Laurel Bluegrass Band, we played there, at one venue or other, for close to 25 years, but fell out of favor after the original booking agent (Doris, iirc) was replaced. Fond memories, nonetheless
