The products page indicates that the PT-100 is sold out. Is this a temporary situation, or have Emo completely ditched the product? And if so, what is the alternative? J-J

I'd suggest calling them and asking. And then let the forum know!

Not very practical to call. 8 or 9 hour time difference between TN and France. But I hope Emo will answer directly on this thread. J-J

Were I a betting man, I'd suspect that it's temporarily out of stock. That said, I DO wish that Emotiva's product pages were more descriptive when something is awry with a product listing. A simple "out of stock - more expected" vs. "discontinued - no longer available." would be most helpful.

Sorry for any confusion...
The PT-100 is not discontinued. It is temporarily out of stock. I’ll ask our marketing people to modify the language on the site to avoid confusion in the future.

And as a side comment...
The PT-100, TA-100, along with the entire BasX product lineup have become huge sellers. They are definitely NOT being discontinued!
We keep increasing production, but demand continues to rise... a good problem, but frustrating if you need one today. We’re about 30 days out at the moment.
However, TA-100’s are in stock.

Thanks Dan, 30 days aren't an issue, and I believe there are a few units available out there from your distributors. All is well that ends well... J-J

My suggestion to anyone who is waiting for the PT-100 is to just spend the extra measly $100 and get the TA-100, $100 for that amp section is unheard of literally haha but really my buddy bought my TA-100 from me since I had no where to actually put it to use and another friend bought one on my recommendation and they both love it, hands down the best value in audio at the present moment.

Chad I concur! Seriously great value in audio! Great sound and versatility. Love mine,,,,,ha,,,,ha,,,ha,,,,Chad! I found a great place for mine, at work. Fills 2500 sq ft wih wonderful music bia any way I want. From CD, Blueray, BTM-1 or FM. Just a great piece. Want a louder party, plug in your amp! If it dies or breaks down, just use the internal amps again!

Gear is built in 'batches' or 'runs'. Parts are ordered for the required number, plus perhaps some spares or accounting for defects or failures in-line. Demand might be funny to estimate. Canon did that with the ORIGINAL EOS REBEL camera. The article I read some time ago indicated they started with some large (I thought so, anyway) number built. Each reorder was for MORE as the darn thing took off. The original run was a fraction of the number ultimately built. EMO has only so much space to store stuff. You don't want stock on shelves sitting aorund so you build in what may SEEM to be small increments. Most manufacturing these days is done as 'Just In Time'. You might get 1000 cases per month. You can deal with that many, but not more. So? First Wednesday of the month, a shipper shows up with the next 'batch' of cases. Same goes for all the other parts. You don't want a warehouse of parts, but you don't want to run out, either. Name the part, from screws, nuts and bolts to any custom stuff like casework or custom wiring assemblies you may get fabricated out-of-house.
I don't envy the guy who orders stuff and the group that ESTIMATES potential demand. Look at TESLA, today they have pre-paid orders for thousands of the new Model3 and very slow production. I don't know that I'd wait a year or more for a 40,000$ car. But probably would wait for a good value piece for a garage, den or BR '2nd system'.

I got an email this morning from Emotiva with the subject line 'Speaker Closeout Sale'. Anyone know what's up with that? I went to their website - nothing about speaker closeout sales.
