So today I heard a song playing on a local PBS station.. The sound was really good.. The horns were awesome. It was a song called Shortyville. As soon as I was home I found the album on Tidal.. (Artist) Trombone Shorty,
(Album) Say That To Say This.
He's a local New Orleans guy. I'm sure a few of you know who this is, so excuse my ignorance. LoL.
His music is really good.. So cue it up on Tidal. Kind of a mix of Jazz, Funk, and Soul.
I played bits of all of his albums.. I particularly like all the instrumentals.
Give it a play later

Give it a play later We teied to nook him for The Little Walter Music Festival a couple of years back. He’s outstanding! Enjoy. Also look up Mr. Sipp and the Mississippi Blue Child. Great entertainer! Just opened his own place. He played The LWMF a few times. |

Agree with ya on Shorty, and yes TURN IT UP! First heard him on one of the late night shows, impressed me enough to search out and get an album.

I've seen him on some videos on line as well as ones that I own. Pretty cool.

If you get a chance to see Shorty live, do it. maybe the best live show I've ever seen.

I saw him open for JJ Grey and his band Mofro. He was fantastic.
Btw while you are at it check out JJ Grey... One of my favorites that many have never heard of. If you like Trombone Shorty you will most likely love JJ Grey.

He's got this really sound with all the horns.
Yeah.. The video,above of,him,playing is really interesting.. I'm guessing it's a technique used brass players, but very hard to master. I've never seen this done
