I am posting this here because it seems to draw the most views and has the most threads of any board in the lounge. I thought these youtubes viddies were interesting and thought others might enjoy also.
Don't know if anyone here has mentioned or linked to this or not but Paul McGowan of PS Audio did a really nice walk through of some of the displays at AXPONA that was just posted on Youtube on April 17th.
Paul is a really great guy with excellent engineered and made in the USA products and one of the displays he visited and spent some time with is the Emotiva display with Dan doing the tour. Remember this is a competing brand of audio products and it's refreshing to see how generous Paul is with his time to highlight the products of competitors. The tour with Dan and Emotiva starts at about 8 mins 8 seconds in but the whole video is really well worth watching.

Both Paul McGowan of PS Audio, and Dan Laufman of Emotiva have expressed the goal of making all their products here in the United States, and should be commended for that as well as for making really nice stuff at prices that are real world.
Next up is the link to another of Paul McGowans viddies on Youtube in which he answers a write in question regarding whether or not to keep your music room separate from your movie room. I don't agree with all the conclusions since I really enjoy having projection video and a surround sound processor in the same room I use for music listening. I actually enjoy experimenting from time to time with surround sound (both Dolby and DTS) for music listening as well as at least the well done surround sound SACDs and DVD Audio discs and files I have. By well done I mean ambiance coming from the rear not individual instruments or players.
I find it can be addictive and downright holographic.
Anyway, what is very cool is Paul McGowan states that he uses Emotiva amplification ( I presume a multichannel amp and possibly a processor ) in his theater room at home. Now he states that it's not as good as his music system for music but if you follow his posts you can gather it's not because of the amplification but because he didn't intend that room to be an all out music room like the main music room at PS Audio with Infinity IRS speakers and megabuck gear. I just think it's cool that someone with his background chose Emotiva for the Amplification in his theater at his own home. I guess we are all on to something here.
