I presently have an MC-700 and a CD-100. I am using the CD-100 as a transport optically connected to the MC. Question is, should I use the DAC in the MC as I am doing, or should I use the DAC in the CD-100 and connect to the MC analog. Or, is this too much about nothing? Your thoughts.

Try it and see which you prefer. I wouldn't expect much difference, I doubt that it's going to be a day and night comparison. I use my ERC-3 balanced output with an XSP-1,in comparison to the ERC-3's digital output to a UMC-200, whilst there is a noticeable difference I can't put that down to the DAC alone, too many others factors involved.
Cheers Gary

I agree, try it out. You might prefer one over the other in some way, or not,but no harm in checking it out. There would be no technical reason why you wouldn't want to check it out.
