My favorite line is: "Price bears no relation to actual performance and musicality." I wonder what other words or expressions might replace the word "price" in that line... e.g. "Size..." as in "Size bears no relation..., etc. etc" "Newness..." "Being the latest..." "Brand name..." "Sophistication..." "Looks..." "Power..." "Variety..." And most controversially speaking... "Science..." "Measurements..." I suspect I might get attacked for taking some of these positions, and so be it... But here is the most ironic point of all : Even if you were to grant all of the above as valid or at least, compelling, you will also have to agree that none of them will ever stop audiophiles and or enthusiasts from pursuing at least some of the listed categories obsessively, as if they were the most crucial linchpins of everything that counts as "great audio." I guess that apparent paradox accounts for some of the necessary insanity that drives this hobby.
