I just picked up a SP-1 and giving it time to break in playing Gene Ammons ~ Funky. Are there any differences between the phono stage circuit in them? or just a XPS-1 with a built in PS? and 3 aux inputs of course =)

So if you added that in it would work seamlessly with it and add a separated digital audio path

I fully understand that . My question is what if any is the difference in the phono circuit ? or is it exactly the same circuit as the XPS 1 .
