Sitting in a dark corner of my basement in its original box is my XDA-1. It was replaced in 2014 when I received the XMC-1 and the XDA-1 along w/ a UMC-1 & XPA-5 found limited use in the den before being replaced by an old Bose system (not my choice but that's what my dad prefers). The speakers at the time were JBL Studio 130s & a bunch of older Polks.
I'm wondering, would it make any difference in sound if I used it w/ a Mini-X A-100 to power a pair of JBL S36II's in Stereo mode? At the moment, the Mini-X A-100's are connected to DirecTV & an older 3D capable Samsung LED TV.
The sound is better than the internal tv speakers but I find everyone always cranks up the volume on the Mini-X A-100. Either my ears are getting sensitive or everyone else is hard of hearing.

I think it could make a difference. However I don't know how good those JBL's or your overall setup sound. If our setup is able to distinguish between electronics the XDA-1 sounds pretty good I would try it over any DAC coming from a tv box. It's two extra cables.
