Just wondering if anyone has had an issue with crackling on the woofer of their 3b speakers, I had it turned up the other day and nowhere near distorting or anything and I now notice at all volumes a bit of a crackle noise at a certain frequency and it's driving me nuts since I sit near field to them and really don't run them loud but of course being the perfectionist I am I hear it.
I know they are out of warranty but I could call Emotiva to see if the know of what part I would need as in the replacement woofer for it or just take it apart and see if I can find some sort of part number, I love these little speakers and really don't want to have to shelf them especially seeing how I just got them.
Cheers, Chad

Cheers, Chad Try swapping amplifiers Bill Amplifier is located in the right speaker and from the right speaker to the left speaker is just a 2.5mm cable for the analog signal to the left speaker, it sounds like the woofer is somewhat blown and though I did turn it up one night I didn't notice any distortion or trying to drive them to extremes, it should be an easy replacement but I need to find out the part # Chad

Still, if you can swap drivers (will need to dis-assemble anyway) and be sure it's the driver and not in the electronics. Once sure you can see if Emo. still has a replacement part for you. Bill

Bill Called them and spoke with Grayson, they don't carry any parts so if I can take the back plate off and check to see if I can find a part # and then hopefully find it online as I did when i replaced the drive in my ERC-1, only issue may be I don't see any screws holding the driver in when I removed the backside of the left speaker so if it is glued in then I'm out of luck Chad

First? Wonderful reason NOT to buy EMO speakers. Support is key. I had Magnepan MG-1 from mid/late 70s which I sent ot factor for rebuild sometime around early 2000s. They called and asked 'what color would you like grill cloth?'. That was IT.
As for YOUR problem? If you can determine a correct replacement driver, buy TWO OF 'EM. Replace in BOTH speakers at once so they remain a 'pair'.
If speaker is marked with some OEM identifier, call THEM for some information. If they can send you a datasheet. than you can go to Parts Express or Madisound to source a replacement based on THAT data.
