Is it compareable to the PT-100 as a pre amp? I have a TA-100 and just ordered a A-300 amp. I was told the TA-100 woukd work well as a PreAmp in this set up, true? Or should i start saving for a pre amp?

I understand both both TA-100 and PT-100 are essentially identical preamp. Not an engineer, so this may sound stupid. If there is no speakers attached to the TA-100 and you adjust the volume up. Does it do anything on the amp side, consume more electricity etc?

If nothing is connected to the speaker terminals, nothing to worry about on the amps

Correct, the amp stage is at idle. So if a TA-100 was used as a preamplifier alone,no problem. Simply connect the power amp you want, connect speakers to that amp and enjoy! Easy.

Sure you can. Connect the RCA Main outputs from the TA-100 to the RCA line inputs on the XPA-2 or any power amplifier of choice and you are set Add speakers on the XPA of course too please.
