Just received my RMC1....did NOT come with XLR>RCA adapters.... Wow! Exciting! Keep us updated on setup and performance. I'm holding off on buying until next year sometime and want to hear how others are fairing with their RMC's.

A request to the Mods: Now that the RMC-1 HAS arrived, is there any thought to locking this thread and then starting a new one devoted to comments and reactions to the product?
Thanks

I am having some issues.....boot time is LOOOOONG so get ready. If you have HDMI output on 1 and not 2 (ARC) the unit would NOT boot...

I think it was stated that the first RMC-1 batch is sitting in the office and waiting to be shipped? So either: a) That statement wasn´t true b) The statement regarding the chips isn´t true Emotiva posted a picture late last week I showing RMC-1's being assembled. So if a statement was made about units sitting around and waiting to be shipped, I don't believe that to be true. Or at least not enough units for all the ordered they took back on the 15th.

Thanks Why lock this thread when there are plenty of people who have not received their RMC-1 fro the order on the 15th, and even more who will not get their pre-orders? I don't want to bog down a official owners thread with talks of pre-orders and delays. Let that thread be for people who have the RMC and any trouble shooting if needed.

Yes it makes no sense to me about them sitting in Dan's office to be shipped out. It should have said sitting in his office waiting for final assembly after they receive the chips. My concern is the chips have been what has been holding it up all this time. So what if these chips don't come which obviously some haven't. Do I wait another week? Another month? Another year? It has been a long time waiting on these chips already. Who really knows how much longer it will actually be.
Screw it I am calling them back right now..
Well that didn't work. They are closed now. I am assuming this is why she said mine would be shipping out probably early next week. Hopefully Monday. But probably and hopefully are definitely not guarantees. I guess I should have asked more questions. Because when I was told that I actually did have the question of why you don't know for sure when it is shipping.

Got mine as well just a few minutes ago....going to unbox tomorrow and get it slid in system.....I am tired from driving all day and want to relax...

That was changed after the V3 HDMI Board came out and that's the way it works on the XMC-1 with V3 HDMI Board upgrade.

The workaround for the long boot up from the “Lowest Power” mode (which reboots the OS core) is to use the “Video on Standby” even if you don’t need, or use, pass through video. Like the XMC-1 (with the V3 HDMI board), it reduces the bootup time from over a minute to just a few seconds. I use the Video on Standby mode on my XMC-1. If I ever encounter a glitch that requires an OS reboot, I just put the XMC-1 in standby and flip the main power switch on the back.

The few cents per month that it may cost is worth the aggravation of waiting through a two minute boot up to me. YMMV...

My workaround remark was for the HDMI issue but it looks like we just use #2.....I am aware of the start up issue, I used to use the High power setting for my old XMC as well...all good

thank you for the hint from Rich: "The workaround for up-mixer restrictions is to send LPCM from the source."
In my initial post I stated: "I'm interested in the Auro-3D upmixer(seeming to be the best) for my more than 12.000 tracks classical music library in stereo/5.0/5.1" These are either downloaded files or ripped CDs/SACDs/DVDs/Blurays all stored as flac (compressed PCM) on two 2TB SSDs. I listened to the Auro-Upmixer and must say, it is fantastic for 5.1/5.0/2.0 and even for historical Mono-recordings. It is definitely better than the Dolby-upmixer So the Dolby upmixing-restrictions, which have the only reason to penalize a technical superior competitor, doesn't affect me.
I have been waiting a long time for the rmc-1, but now due to the lack of the Auro-upmixer in the rmc-1, my last resort seems to be a Marantz 8805. I'm not happy about that, because otherwise the rmc-1, being superior in all other respects, would have been my first choice.
